Confetti Courtyards
This project is formed by the intersection and reconciliation of a 45-degree diagonal grid and a concentric circular grid. The combination between polygonal pieces and the circular fragments become the main design patterns for the buildings and landscape. The hierarchy within the circles and the grid is represented through the varying landscape program such as fountains, gardens, and amphitheaters. Within the buildings, the circular fragments are defined as rest areas, and use transparency around the landscape features to encourage public interaction and a connection with nature.
