Thick Corridors

Thick corridors, freeways, and target streets radiate into the surrounding blocks to connect communities and the Santa Monica and Verdugo Mountains. The project reestablishes the relationship between the freeway and adjacent neighborhood fabric and redefines the urban freeway as a public space. The proposal intends to repair and transform the freeway infrastructure while reconnecting and activating the surrounding blocks and communities by introducing three target streets to stitches lengthways.
