The Yard @ Rio de Los Angeles State Park

The Yard @ Rio is an ecological enhancement experiment. Designed and built over the course of a semester, the Yard @ Rio consists of 12 California Native Plant Test Plots. These plots will serve as a living laboratory to monitor factors such as biodiversity, soil structure, and planting density. It will also be a location to test methods of community based restoration and environmental education. Finally, our larger goal is to celebrate the labor involved in land care and build a stronger land ethic in our community.
