A Muralist and His Curves

This project is an exploration of curves. Beginning with understanding their spatial qualities through three different systems, I then developed the systems to create a narrative around a given client. My client is an introverted muralist who avoids other people. He paints abstract landscapes on curved surfaces. His site is a one-way loop for the public with different spaces throughout for various programs. By adjusting my system around my client’s narrative, I started to investigate the difference between curves and orthogonal lines by negotiating the two in my design.
