Leimert Community Center

Throughout our semester long investigation of the shed typology, we grew to understand the efficiency and flexibility granted by this increasingly popular building type. Acknowledging the historic and cultural significance of our site at Leimert Park, this project not only prioritizes the preservation of this vibrant community, but it also seeks to re-imagine traditional shed types through innovative technology (aircraft fuselage and semi-monocoque systems), and thus, bring about an intersection between Leimert Park’s history and future.
