USC Architecture XpoThe Responsibility of Architecture–Architecture is expected to play a major cultural role in producing a meaningful and supportive environment for human activity. This studio section spent the year studying how architecture manages to do this by first examining the characteristics distinguishing architecture from other building-related phenomena and then identifying one feature in particular to study in depth through the analysis of an exemplary precedent. This analysis then guided the development of a new design commenting on the original as an illustration of architecture’s responsibility.
