Intersection

Using the logic of intersection derived from a study of five-in-a-row, the project recognizes intersections as the relationship between international students and domestic students, relationship between students and the community, or even the relationship between countries which are represented by international students. The project features spaces intersecting circulation, as a means to compulsively expose students to various events/conversations happening inside, encouraging more interactions. These spaces are also projecting beyond the boundary, as devices displaying what’s happening inside the building to communicate with the community. Moreover, the volumes of various dimensions are representative of the diversity of international students, intersecting with the main body of the building, which is representative of the university.
