MODULAR BRIDGE HOUSES

This proposal continues the line of design research initiated with the double house project that preceded it. Similarly, an L-Block module was adopted as a flexible and adaptable dwelling unit and then multiplied and outfitted to house a diverse group of users including singles, small families, co-living and co-working arrangements.

Various organizational combinations and permutations were studied to form courtyard and bars of units and shared outdoor spaces of various sizes and proportions. Contrary to conventional ways of organizing programs, private and public spaces are mixed between the ground floor and second floor. Finally, bridges are placed on the second level not only connect the units, but also provide additional elevated communal and semi-private patios for residents.
