Leimert Park Institute of Film Arts

ARCH500A – Comprehensive Design Studio focused on building systems such as structural systems, environmental systems, envelope systems, accessibility, fire life safety, materiality, and environmentally-conscious sustainable design. The Leimert Park Institute for Film Arts, an organization revolving around The LA Rebellion or sometimes referred to as the “Los Angeles School of Black Film Makers”, was used as a vehicle to study these building systems. The institute will bring film culture to Leimert Park with an emphasis on independent film as an artistic expression of our cultural condition with the intention to attract members of the interested public, film scholars, film artists and enthusiasts, and act as a cultural conduit between film arts and the community.
