8-bit Broadacre City

The project aims to study the transformation from the Storer House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to its Diptych addition, which not only preserves but also adds on new interpretations and characteristics. Then the addition was further translated into forms of pixel art and cinematic setting, which situated the project into a fantasy world. In this project, I referenced Frank Lloyd Wright’s Broadacre City, which is a farming suburban plan that proposes individual homesteads. The project features Stardew Valley as the major aesthetic style that coincides with Wright’s suburban plan. The perspective drawing, however, introduces a post-apocalypse setting to the two diptychs, which evokes an imaginative future of this historical plan.
