Floating Corridor

Locating at the intersection of three different neighborhoods, the community center should not only serve its own community, but also perform as a place where cultural communication can happen. In this way, people from outside will not be excluded because of the strong cultural identity, and start getting better understanding of the community, which can make contribution to the local development. To achieve this, the project is featured by the floating corridor that hanging on the mega structures formed by X trusses. It functions as the art gallery as well as the main circulation through the building in order to make everyone inside the building to experience the unique culture. The main programmatic system of the project are also floating boxes hanging on mega structures that incorporate open air spaces at different levels to reinforce the interaction among people. Floor-to-ceiling glazing system on surfaces of boxes enables various kinds of visual experiences.
