Beyond the static

The project challenges the traditional compact and static farmworker housing and starts to build up a more dynamic and collective community by providing customized options. The farming is seasonal, but workers are encouraged to settle down with their families in a more stable and reliable environment with engaged community life and after-season activities. With space expansion and compression systems, both expansive private and public spaces are offered throughout various times of a day, and “borrowed” spaces among neighbors become possible.
