In mixed-density residential areas like Burbank, open space is often neglected or not considered with higher-density housing with the modern urban plan model. The open space that does exist is privately owned by single-family houses reducing the potential for land use that could be communally owned. I assign three typologies (respective to rural, urban, and suburban living) to maintain optionality in living style, while still allocating land equally and communally. By increasing density I am able to increase the open space by 25% and house around 1200 more people. This type of urban scheme is more sustainable and can still maintain distinct living styles within one superblock.
