INTERACTIVE CIRCULATION

Studied Wall House 2 by John Hejduk where there are specific components as the very long and narrow corridor, the bathroom and the wall that separates the primary and support program. I took these components and misused them to create a new, horizontal strategy which is a single level design. The wall and the corridor components were combined to create a curved circulation through the house. The corridor follows John Hejduk’ s sidedness agenda and it is never just a corridor. It becomes a series of events by passing by the rooms (bedroom, living room, kitchen) and viewing the private courtyard throughout. With the usage of curved corridor a design benefit was having a private space in the middle which becomes the private courtyard.
