Systemic Revolution

This project uses Generative Design, plug-and-play housing to maximize efficiency, allow for easy renovations in case of a demographic shift in the area, and create a sense of individuality for each resident. Its overall structural system could be used in several projects around the country or Los Angeles allowing residents to move their individual units onto a truck without construction work.

To allow for every unit to be individually removable from the overall structure, the units on each level rotate similar to a carousel. This rotation gives each unit an equal, perpetually changing view, supporting the idea of equality in ownership in the cooperative housing model.

Also, with the rotating system, solar panels on the roof can always be pointed directly towards the sun, maximizing the capture of sustainable energy. Rings of additional solar panels on each level act as a shading device for units and also automatically adjust themselves to face the sun.
