In achieving an accessible building that is closely concerned with user experience, I’ve created a multi-story residence with a seemingly opaque form but is in reality porous and open. The ramp, along with the outer screen, is a system of facade that is an attempt at opening up the building and connecting the interior programs to the outside. On top of making the entire building accessible, the ramp makes traveling through the building an experience by leading the users into pocket gardens – an extension of the outside, packing qualities of nature onto the interior and turns a corridor that would otherwise be dull into a more pleasurable pathway.
