Zero-Threshold Compound

This project challenges conventional single-family homes which often relies on stairs and different levels as their primary source of spatial variation by using a collision of geometric parts to create an ADA compliant, single-story, zero-threshold house. Spatial Variation in this single-story project is experience through the varying roof heights in each parts of the whole. In addition, all parts are unified by a circle that offers a new material index as well as a new system of windows. The language of circle continues out to form the circulation of its garden, which is a consistent 4.5’ wide path to surpass the ADA requirements of comfortable circulation. Each part’s unique material palate along with the unifying wood siding gives the building a unique composition in each view of the house.
