Complementary Differences

Robert Venturi asserts the juxtaposition of two distinctly primitive shapes as a point of powerful activation of space. Taking Venturi’s lead, Complementary Differences explores the right triangle and the rectangle and their relationship in creating a contrasting exterior and interior. The two primitive shapes become a conglomeration of fragmented rhythm from the outside, as a triangle grows from different surfaces of a rectangle. The interior integrates the different formal attributes in a programmatic experience which ventures the occupant from public to private space.
