Cylinder House

The Cylinder House sits on the corner of a lot defined by an existing large postmodern building marked by its lines, ridges, and corners. Against such a backdrop, the Cylinder House stands out by contrast with the existing context. The skylight introduces natural light throughout the three levels of the house. While the first floor serves as a public program, the second floor doubles as an office and a semi-public space. Doors can be opened creating a seamless connection to the outdoors. Finally, the third level is a private space with a dimmable glass ceiling that allows the guest to control levels of light and privacy.
