Health From Home to Habitat

In order to answer the question of how we will stay healthy in an urban environment of the future, this project is driven by the intrinsic values of Health and Access. Each value is materialized in separate systems, which intertwine to provide a holistic solution. There are four quadrants, each focused on a specific health initiative. According to analysis of Burbank, a large portion of commuters in the surrounding areas access their work by walking. However, the streets are designed for vehicular traffic and therefore are dangerous to people walking. To ensure safety and efficiency, a circular grid was developed to juxtapose the regular vehicular grid. Additionally, through passive exercise, the walkways give equal access to food, eliminating food deserts, as well as community gardens and medical facilities.
